Gil Heitor Cortesão is a painter, born in Lisbon in 1967.
Heitor Cortesão’s work reverses the traditional painting process by applying oil painting on one side of Plexiglass sheets and choosing to exhibit the other side. He frequently uses as source material photographic images from various origins, much of them revisiting modernist architecture and design. He deconstructs outlines and surfaces, conjuring new situations and unexpected associations.
